The 3-point hitch<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Typically, the front linkages of agricultural tractors are of the “three-point” type, developed by Ferguson in 1930.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 3-point hitch system is a set of parts for connecting an implement to the front or rear of a tractor-type agricultural machine. It looks like a triangle or the letter A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Implements connected to the hitch can be mounted, semi-mounted or towed, and can be for agricultural, vineyard, cereal or livestock work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The three-point hitch traditionally comprises:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • a hydraulic system, part of the tractor;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • three mobile lifting arms;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • lifting rams, positioned on the arms or sometimes inside the tractor chassis;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • several hitching points, often in the form of hooks at the ends of the arms;<\/li>\n\n\n\n

      How do I choose my tractor\u2019s front linkage?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Based on its lifting power and category<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      Lifting power is the first factor to consider when choosing your tractor front linkage. It is usually proportional to the horsepower of your tractor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      MX front linkages cover lifting capacities from 500\u00a0kg to 5,300\u00a0kg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      However, lifting capacity is not the only thing to consider. You will also need to think about the hitching category, rated from 0 to 3. The higher the number, the stronger the lifting arms and the larger the locking pins will be. This means that they can better withstand the high pressures exerted on the hitch when, for example, working with silage, using heavy implements, or working the soil at depth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      MX offers you two categories of linkage:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          The front linkage control<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

          The front linkage can be controlled via a joystick from the driver\u2019s cab or by using an external control located on the side, both connected to the tractor\u2019s hydraulic control valve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Typically, the operator has several adjustment parameters available: draft or position control, and implement lowering speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Draft control, historically carried out at the third hitch point, is now carried out at the linkage arms, using tensiometric sensors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Complementary to its front linkages, MX offers a range of hydraulic or electronic control joysticks adapted to your tractor and implements.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
