Feedback on Silage Feeding Bucket

Testimonial from GAEC La Brosse (85 – France) about the MX Silage Feeding Bucket

Christophe and Jean-Claude Massé, GAEC La Brosse, mixed crop and livestock farming

Context for use

On his mixed Charolais crop and livestock farm, Christophe uses the MX Belt Silage Bucket (GDT) attached to a Manitou telehandler for daily silage distribution.

The MX advantage:

Time saving thanks to the bucket’s claw system
Comfort and ease of use, with precise and uniform feed distribution
Versatility of the tool, suitable for both silage removal and bedding preparation

A family farm in the heart of the Vendée bocage

In the heart of the Vendée bocage, GAEC La Brosse brings together two brothers, Christophe and Jean-Claude Massé, around a family-run mixed crop and Charolais cattle farm. With around a hundred calvings per year and some cash crops, their daily life is a balance of discipline and passion for their work. Their main goal: to combine working comfort, operational efficiency and precision in herd feeding.

From traditional silage removal to the MX Silage Feeding Bucket

The Massé brothers have always chosen robust solutions suited to their daily needs.

We used to work with silage cutters and straw blowers… and we switched to feeder buckets for greater working comfort and better distribution quality.

Christophe MASSE

With the MX Silage Feeding Bucket (GDT) attached to a Manitou telehandler, they were looking for a simple, reliable, and versatile solution.
The result? A precise and even distribution that allows for optimal ration adjustments, even with coarse forages like mixed crops.

The distribution works perfectly, just like with an old-style silage feeder. The belt and chute make it possible to lay the ration in a very even line, whether on the ground or in raised troughs.

Everyday time savings and versatility

What Christophe appreciates most is the speed of the filling system.

The claw system really saves time. It’s faster than a cutter. And on top of that, it can be used to prepare hay or straw bales for bedding.

A versatility that adds to its ease of use, essential for their daily farming routine.

A long-standing loyalty to MX

The Massé brothers have been loyal customers for many years.

We’ve been working with MX for a very long time. Back in the 1990s, we were already impressed by their hitching system with guide rails — always perfectly aligned and easy to handle.

Christophe MASSE

A relationship built on trust, durability, and real-world satisfaction, lasting for several decades.

The OUVRARD dealer’s perspective

As a project partner, François Verdier, sales representative at OUVRARD (Antigny – 85), knows the Massé family well.

The story of Mailleux is also that of the Ouvrard Group. Both are family-run companies that share the same values. We receive great day-to-day support, whether through factory visits, technical follow-ups, or commercial responsiveness. MX is a solid brand, offering great products and loyal customers.
