The third function is an essential hydraulic option for farmers using active implements with their MX front loader. This extra control is available on MX controls and OEM distributors. It activates an independent hydraulic circuit located at the tip of the loader, allowing for an additional hydraulic movement: opening a clamp, closing a grapple, tilting a 4-in-1 bucket… It is designed for users who want to gain versatility and optimize their working time.
Which handling implements require a 3rd function?
Some agricultural handling implements require an independent hydraulic control to function properly. The third function allows them to be used without leaving the tractor:
- Bale clampss: to open and close the arms
- Buckets – Claws / grapples: to grip or release loads
- 4-in-1 buckets: to combine lifting, tipping, and opening
Practically, when the operator presses the button on the control joystick (such as with an e-pilot S), the hydraulic flow is redirected to the implement, enabling an opening, closing, or specific movement depending on the equipment being used.
